The Sri Lankan youth team achieved a remarkable 52-run victory against the England Under-19 women's team in the tri-series match held yesterday (April 07) at the Ian Healy Oval in Australia.
Batting first, the Sri Lankan youth side scored 170 runs in 42.4 overs before being bowled out. Limansa Thilakaratne anchored the innings with a half-century, scoring 51 runs off 85 balls, while Shashini Gimhani contributed a solid 39 runs from 50 deliveries.
In reply, the England team struggled against the Sri Lankan bowlers and were dismissed for just 118 runs in 42.1 overs. Bryony Gillgrass was the top scorer for England with 35 runs.
