The Mercedes-Benz Club of Sri Lanka, founded in 1990, has successfully hosted a historic gathering of 635 Mercedes-Benz vehicles, establishing a new world record for the largest assembly of Mercedes-Benz cars at a single location. The record was officially verified and certified by BDO Partners Chartered Accountants at the Mercedes-Benz Pageant 2025.

The milestone carries added significance as Mercedes-Benz celebrates 140 years of innovation since the invention that gave rise to the modern motor car.

The achievement surpasses the existing Guinness World Record of 479 vehicles, previously set by Mercedes-Benz Ecuador in Quito on 16 October 2021.

The record-breaking Mercedes-Benz Pageant 2025, organised by the Mercedes-Benz Club of Sri Lanka, was held on 8 February 2026 at the BMICH following a postponement due to natural disasters that affected the country late last year. DIMO, the authorised general distributor for Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Sri Lanka, powered the landmark event.

Mercedes-Benz owners from across the country came together to celebrate the brand’s legacy, engineering excellence, and the strong camaraderie within Sri Lanka’s Mercedes-Benz community.

The pageant also marked 35 years of the Mercedes-Benz Club of Sri Lanka, showcasing an exceptional collection of classic, young-classic, and the latest Mercedes-Benz models under one roof.

“This event reflects the passion, dedication, and unity of our members and the wider Mercedes-Benz family in Sri Lanka. The certification by BDO Partners Chartered Accountants underscores the credibility and precision with which the event was organised and conducted,” said Asgi Akbarally, President of the Mercedes-Benz Club of Sri Lanka.

He also extended appreciation to all participants, partners, DIMO, and volunteers whose contributions made the milestone possible.

“With over 85 years of automotive excellence and as the exclusive Mercedes-Benz partner in Sri Lanka, DIMO is proud to support this historic achievement,” said Rajeev Pandithage, Executive Director of DIMO.

“Mercedes-Benz continues to command an unmatched legacy and owner loyalty. This remarkable gathering reflects the strength of that community and the enduring appreciation for automotive excellence in Sri Lanka,” he added.
