Chinese Dragon Café (CDC), one of Sri Lanka’s most recognisable names in Chinese cuisine, has opened its latest outlet in Galle, marking a new chapter in the brand’s long-standing presence across the island.
Located on Colombo Road, Kaluwella, just 300 metres from the Galle railway station, the new restaurant becomes CDC’s 10th outlet in Sri Lanka, offering its full range of signature dishes.
Established in 1942 by a Chinese couple in Bambalapitiya, Chinese Dragon Café has grown from a modest neighbourhood eatery into a trusted household name. Today, the brand operates outlets in key urban centres including Mount Lavinia, Nugegoda, Rajagiriya, Pelawatta, Wattala, Kandana, Kaduwela and Jaffna. In 2021, CDC expanded its footprint internationally with the opening of its first overseas outlet in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Galle opening underscores CDC’s commitment to expanding its reach across the island while catering to both local diners and the tourism community in the Southern Province.
In line with evolving customer preferences, Chinese Dragon Café also offers free delivery, event catering, corporate meal solutions for training programmes and events, as well as online ordering services.
CDC Chief Executive Officer Gayan Fernando said, “We have a strong base of loyal customers from the Southern Province, and opening an outlet in Galle was a natural and much-needed step. We are excited to serve the local community as well as tourists and look forward to becoming a familiar name in the area.”
