Garth Brooks had a short-lived career as a Major League Baseball player when he signed with the San Diego Padres for spring training in 1998 and 1999 in his late 30s. The Padres were mocked by the media for signing the country star, especially since his baseball experience had ended in high school. Unfortunately the team didn't get the chance to prove the haters wrong because Garth didn't perform well enough to get placed on the regular season roster. But the next season he signed with the New York Mets and then again with the Kansas City Royals in 2004.
