Before becoming an international recording star, he was successful in academic fields as well. He went from being his high school Student Council President to earning a BS in Psychology from Ripon College and a Masters in Vocational Rehabilitation from the University of Iowa. He later worked as a rehabilitation counselor in San Francisco. He have won a total of seven Grammy Awards as well as numerous other international music awards and accolades.
