Chiwetel Ejiofor has been cast as Baron Mordo in the upcoming Marvel Comics adaptation "Doctor Strange."

Ejiofor joins Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange, and Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One.

Mordo and Strange were once students of the Ancient One, but became enemies after Mordo's attempt to kill their mentor.

Deadline notes that Ejiofor and Swinton's characters have been tinkered with by the film's makers.

"[Mordo is] an amalgamation of characters culled from Doctor Strange's mythology.

His isn't the first change-up in the film; Swinton's The Ancient One character is another, as the movie has gender-swapped the Tibetan male sorcerer from the comics."

"Doctor Strange," directed by Scott Derrickson from a script by writer Jon Spaihts, is due in theaters in November 2016.
