Cher says that Kanye West personally thanked her for her pioneering use of the vocal effect auto-tune on her track "Believe." Cher met Ye and his wife Kim Kardashian at the NYC Met Ball on Monday.

On Twitter, Cher told her fans she enjoyed meeting KimYe, describing Kim as "very gracious" and stating that West "thanked me for Autotune."

Kanye used auto-tune prominently on his 2008 album, 808s & Heartbreak, while Cher did the same ten years earlier on Believe.

She added, "They were sweet,& seemed 2 be having fun."

It's not the first time Cher has reached out to support Ye.

In 2013 she hit Twitter to lend her support after Kanye got into a scuffle with a photographer at LAX.
