Billy Joel will play the final concert at Nassau Coliseum ahead of the venue's upcoming restoration. The gig comes August 4, over a decade after Joel's last concert there in 2002. Tickets go on sale May 1.

According to Newsday, the show will be Joel's 32nd at the arena in which a banner hangs from the rafters "commemorating his record-setting run of nine sold-out shows there in 1998 during the Hicksville native's tour to support his Greatest Hits, Vol. 3 album."

Yet, it's not the first time Joel has closed down a major NYC venue, doing the same for Shea Stadium in 2008.

Joel has another big summer date when he heads to Manchester, Tennessee to headline the 13th annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in June.
