Neil Young and Stephen Stills reunited on stage in Los Angeles earlier this week as part of the annual Light Up the Blues benefit concert.

Their appearances came on April 25 and proceeds for the show went toward autism research.

Stills is one of the founding members of the event and spoke with Rolling Stone as he entered the Pantages Theater in Hollywood.

According to the rock legend, it's a different level of responsibility when you organize your own charity event as opposed to participating in other events.

"This one's mine," he said. "Now you find out who your friends are."

Stills and Young connected on a number of rock classics including "Long May You Run" and "For What It's Worth."

The pair were also joined throughout the night byShawn Colvin and Steve Earle, whose 5-year-old son was recently diagnosed as autistic.

Earle said that Stills and his wife were a huge help when they got the diagnosis.

"I fell back on them pretty hard when going through the process of figuring out what to do with the diagnosis," Earle said.

"I see now that he had symptoms long before we had any idea."
