Sid Tepper, Songwriter For Elvis, Dies At 96

Sid Tepper, the songwriter who wrote many of Elvis Presley's top hits including "Stay Away" and "G.I. Blues," has died at the age of 96 of natural causes.
Tepper passed in Aventura, Florida of natural causes.
Many of the tunes Tepper wrote were featured in Elvis' movies.
"I believe that Elvis' movies and their songs made a mighty contribution to his career," Tepper said in a 2005 interview.
"They brought him to the attention of millions of people who otherwise would never have known the greatness of the King."
In addition to Elvis hits, Tepper wrote Guy Lombardo's "Red Roses for a Blue Lady," Perry Como's "Kewpie Doll," Marty Robbins' "Stairway to Love" and Cliff Richard's "Travelin' Light."
