Blondie has announced that they are hitting the road this summer with Melissa Etheridge.

The trek begins on June 27 with a date opening for Morrissey at NYC's Madison Square Garden, and includes a July 20 show in Washington with Joan Jett.

"I remember 1980, when Jett's first solo album came out," Etheridge told of her first experience hearing the recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee.

"I was like, 'Oh, OK, there's rock and roll. There's a woman who's really playing rock and roll. That's it, right there.'"
