Nile Rodgers and Chic performed their new song "I'll Be There" along with the old hit "Good Times" on a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

Rodgers told that he was motivated by the passing of Chic guitarist Bernard Edwards, who died in 1996.

"1996 may seem like a long time ago, but it feels like yesterday to me . . . as well as an eternity. The name of the song is 'I'll Be There'.

The reason is: after I found Bernard's body, I said to him, 'Now, I can be there for you in death, the way you were there for me in life.'"

"I'll Be There" a collab with the house duo the Martinez Brothers, is the first single from It's About Time, Chic's first album in 23 years.
