Eric Clapton walked off stage at Glasgow's Hydro over the weekend, prompting fans to send him off with a chorus of boos. Clapton played a few songs before encountering a problem with the sound then leaving.

Several minutes later he came back on stage before deciding to walk away again.

"He didn't apologise, he just walked off," according to one concertgoer..

"At first the stunned audience thought he might be going off but coming back for an encore. But the stage crew ran on and started dismantling the set.

After the fracas, a message was posted on Clapton's Facebook page, blaming the arena's soundsystem:

"Unfortunately last night in Glasgow we experienced a steadily worsening technical problem with the PA system that the band battled with throughout the show but by the last song of the set it became unbearable on stage and Eric was unable to complete that number."
