High-resolution versions of most of Tom Petty's back catalog are now available for purchase.

HDTracks.com has made the albums available with the help of Hypnotic Eye producer Ryan Ulyate and Petty himself, who approved the remasters.

"Many people haven't discovered it yet and maybe…you don't understand it, but you will understand it when you listen to it," says Petty in a promo clip.

"It's many, many times the resolution of an MP3 or a CD. If you turn it on, it's gonna change everything for you musically."

He adds, "You'll actually hear what we hear in the studio sitting behind the console, which would make me very happy.

I think an MP3 is five percent of what I'm hearing here in the studio, so while I'm kicking my ass trying to give you the highest fidelity there is, I hate for you to miss out on that."

The available albums begin with 1976's Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and end with 2010's Mojo.
