Joan Jett will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Miley Cyrus, the HOF prexy Greg Harris announced during a presser. The 30th annual ceremony, set for April 18, goes down in Cleveland.

"It was interesting to learn that they are mutual admirers," Harris said, noting that the pair had previously performed on Oprah.

After the choice was announced, many Jett fans hit her Facebook page to make their displeasure public.

However, an unnamed source, speaking with Cleveland.com, claimed that the pair are "close."

"She and Miley are close. They did Oprah together years ago. You can take a look at that footage, but there is a huge fondness there for each other."

Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and Tommy James of Tommy James and Shondells will provide a musical opening for Jett.
