Aerosmith fronter Steven Tyler took the stage at the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday night to announce the impending release of a solo country album.

Tyler came on stage during an appearance by Eric Paslay to make the news official.

Billboard previously reported that Tyler had been in the studio working on a country album to be released by the Big Machine Label Group.

Billboard also reported that a 2016 release date is likely for the record, although, during his Opry appearance, Tyler didn't confirm any specifics.

"That's what I cut my teeth on — the Everly Brothers," Tyler previously told CMT of his country roots.

"I just love it. I love the words. I love the inflections. It's just great."
