Brian Wilson and Kacey Musgraves recently released their duet "Guess You Had To Be There," which is featured on Wilson's upcoming new solo album, No Pier Pressure.

Wilson has a reputation for pushing for perfection when it comes to collaborating with others, but says it didn't take long for him and Musgraves to make a connection.

"When it's good it's good, when it's not — do it again," Wilson said. "But after three tries, Kacey nailed it. I like the way she just slides over the notes — she has a very cool sound."

No Pier Pressure also features collaborations with fun.'s Nate Ruess, She & Him, along with his Beach Boys bandmates Al Jardine, Blondie Chaplin and David Marks.

No Pier Pressure will be released on April 7.
