David Gilmour Says 'There's No Room For Pink Floyd'

Pink Floyd's surprise 2014 release The Endless Rivermay be the official end of the band, according to David Gilmour.

Gilmour recently told Rolling Stone that fans should not expect a tour behind The Endless River. He added that "there's no room for Pink Floyd."

"The whole thing was becoming bigger than I liked; I wasn't enjoying the lack of connection with the audience" — and this album's heavy focus on the keyboard work of deceased Floyd member Rick Wright means that live dates are, in Gilmour's words, "kind of impossible."

Going forward, he added, "I'm really enjoying my life and my music.

There's no room for Pink Floyd. The thought of doing any more causes me to break out in a cold sweat."

"Anything we had of value is on this album," he added. "Trying to do it again would mean using second-best material, and that's not good enough for me.

I wouldn't rule anything out, but the likelihood of it being anything more than one little charity show is very, very remote."
