The Doors have been voted into the Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame. The website hosts a monthly fan voted poll to induct classic rock acts into its HOF.

According to the site, the 1960s rockers faced stiff competition throughout the voting process.

"The Doors simply walloped their contemporary Jimi Hendrix by a margin of 61-to-39 percent in final round voting to waltz into induction this month.

Their victory followed earlier successes over Jeff Beck in the opening round, and then Creedence Clearwater Revival in semi-final voting."

Previous inductees into the UCR HOF include Heart, Rush, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Styx, the Doobie Brothers, the Faces, Rod Stewart, George Harrison, T Rex, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, the Beatles and the Kinks.
