Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood joined British boy band One Direction in a surprising performance on the U.K. version of The X Factor on Monday, December 14.

The legendary ax man joined 1D to add some bluesy licks to their cut "Where Do Broken Hearts Go?"

"Really enjoyed tonight, playing live with the boys was so much fun @zaynmalik @Harry_Styles @Louis_Tomlinson @Real_Liam_Payne @NiallOfficial," Wood tweeted after.

It was not the first collab between the Stones and One Direction. Two years ago, Harry Styles was rumored to be in the running to play Mick Jagger in the film adaptation built around the making of Exile on Main Street.

The X Factor episode was the season finale and saw Ben Haenow beat out Fleur East for the season title.
