A special traffic arrangement is in effect today as the World Peace Walk concludes in Colombo. The Colombo Traffic Division planned these measures to accommodate a ceremony scheduled for 4:00 PM at Independence Square, Colombo 07, with the President in attendance.
Traffic movement will face restrictions starting from 11:00 AM on several roads, depending on the situation. The affected areas include the stretch from Bandaranaike Roundabout to Borella Junction on Baseline Road, Maradana Road, Nandadasa Kodagoda Mawatha, Ward Place, Soysa Roundabout, and Lipton Circus.
Further restrictions apply to Dharmapala Mawatha, F.R. Senanayake Mawatha, C.W.W. Kannangara Mawatha, Horton Roundabout, Nanda Motors area, Independence Avenue, Premasiri Khemadasa Mawatha, and Cambridge Place. Additionally, routes near Glass House, Marcus Fernando Mawatha, Public Library Junction, Flower Road, Pittala Junction, James Peiris Mawatha, Muttiah Road, Baybrooke Street, Staple Street, and roads surrounding the Gangaramaya Temple are included in the plan.
Sri Lanka Police requests drivers and the public to use alternative routes wherever possible to minimise potential congestion during this period.
