Gold FM was honoured with the Award for Platinum Excellence in Exceptional Radio Entertainment and Listener Engagement at the Platinum Excellence Awards 2026, which took place yesterday (05) at Cinnamon Life’s City of Dreams in Colombo.

Notable achievements included Best Radio Channel for Advertising Personality, which was awarded to Sun FM, with Sooriyan FM taking the title of Tamil Radio Station of the Year. The award for Best Energetic Radio Programming was given to Shaa FM.

In the digital sphere, Hirunews.lk and Hirugossip won Most Influential Media Platforms, and Hiru TV TikTok earned the Digital Engagement of the Year Award.

Hiru FM’s ‘Ara & Pasbara’ was named Morning Radio Entertainment Programme of the Year.

Individual honours went to Sajitha Anthony for Most Popular Actor, Piyumali Edirisinghe for Most Popular Actress, and Chamara Samarawickrama for Most Popular Teledrama Producer.

Additionally, 'Oba Enna Awith Yanna' secured the title of Most Popular Weekend Drama, while Tharuka Wanniarachchi received the Grand Distinction for Dramatic Artistry for her role in 'Ron Soya.'

As for news and investigative programming, Hiru TV’s ‘CIA’ won Most Popular Investigative News Segment and Chamuditha Samarawickrama received the Grand Laureate for Investigative Journalism and Media Integrity.
