Asia Broadcasting Corporation achieved a major victory at the SLIM Kantar People’s Awards 2026.

The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing organised the event at the Monarch Imperial Hotel in Sri Jayawardenepura.


Industry leaders gathered at the prestigious ceremony to honour brands that resonated most with the Sri Lankan public over the previous year.

HIRU TV secured top honours as Television Channel of the Year and Youth Choice Television Channel of the Year.

It also maintained its position as the News Provider of the Year.

In entertainment, 'Hiru Star' won Television Programme of the Year, and 'Paata Kurullo' received the award for Most Popular Teledrama of the Year.


The show's lead, Sajitha Anthony, took home the Actor of the Year trophy.

Hiru FM celebrated two wins, named Radio Station of the Year, while 'DJ Ara & Pasbara' won Radio Programme of the Year.

Additionally, DJ Ara earned the title of Radio Presenter of the Year.

Shaa FM continued its appeal to younger audiences as the Youth Choice Radio Station of the Year, and Sooriyan FM won Tamil Radio Station of the Year.
