Elderly allowances under the first and second phases of the Aswesuma welfare scheme is set to be credited to bank accounts today (26). The Welfare Benefits Board confirmed that the disbursement covers the month of February.

Over 310 million rupees have been allocated for the elderly allowance under the first phase of the program. Additionally, more than 30 million rupees is set aside for 69,350 beneficiaries under the second phase.
