A fast-unto-death launched by the School Development Officers' Association continues for the fourth consecutive day in front of the Presidential Secretariat, with participants demanding permanent appointments within the teaching service.

Various groups visited the site yesterday to check on the well-being of those protesting. Dr Chamal Sanjeeva, President of the Medical and Civil Rights Professional Professionals' Trade Union Alliance, also arrived at the scene to conduct medical examinations on the fasting officers. During these checks, several individuals showing signs of severe dehydration received saline treatment.
