The Hulftsdorp Magistrate's Court today granted permission to detain and question 11 suspects for seven days following their arrest with over 285 kg of narcotics. Security forces seized two multiday fishing trawlers, "Devidu 01" and "Chuti Putha," during a specialized operation in the southern seas on the 23rd.

The Navy and the Police Narcotic Bureau conducted the joint raid to intercept the illegal shipment. Deputy Minister of Defence Aruna Jayasekera stated the value of the seized drugs exceeds Rs. 4.5 billion.
