A 24-hour symbolic strike began at 8:00 AM today (21), organised by the Government Association of Radiological Technologists.

The union launched the protest because authorities failed to address concerns regarding an unqualified individual performing patient radiation tests at the Maligawatta Kidney Hospital.
In a separate labour action, doctors in the Eastern Province continue their strike.

This ongoing protest targets the conduct of the Medical Superintendent at the Akkaraipattu Base Hospital.
