Two fishermen go missing off Chilaw coast

Two fishermen went missing at sea after departing for fishing activities from the Kurusapaduwa area in Chilaw early this morning (19).

Chilaw Police stated that the duo set out on a one-day fishing craft bearing registration number OFRP -A-7637 CHW.

Other fishermen discovered the overturned vessel at sea and towed it back to shore, but no information regarding the two occupants surfaced.

The missing individuals are identified as 40-year-old Warnakulasuriya Roshan Fernando, a resident of Kurusapaduwa, and 44-year-old Warnakulasuriya Sujith Kumar Fernando from Thaladiya Wella, Chilaw.

A special investigation and search operation involving the Chilaw Police and the Sri Lanka Navy is currently underway to locate the missing men.
