The Colombo High Court ordered the recall of the arrest warrant issued against former Minister Wimal Weerawansa after he surrendered through his lawyers.

Colombo High Court Judge Mohamed Mihal initially issued the warrant this morning (14) when the defendant failed to appear for a case filed by the Bribery Commission.

The legal action involves allegations that the former minister illegally acquired assets valued at over Rs. 75 million.

Following the issuance of the warrant, Weerawansa presented himself to the court via his legal representatives, leading the judge to cancel the arrest order.
