The 2025 People’s Excellency Awards took place last night (29) at the Waters Edge premises in Battaramulla, where Hiru Media Network secured numerous top honours.

Hiru TV claimed the award for the Most Popular Channel of the Year, while Hiru News earned the title of Most Popular News Channel.

Multiple programs under the network received recognition, with "Hiru Star" winning Most Popular Reality Show and "Hiru TV PaththareWisthare" being named the Most Popular Morning Program.

In the drama category, "PaataKurullo" won Most Popular Teledrama.

The network's radio presence also dominated as Hiru FM secured the Most Popular Radio Channel award, while Gold FM and Sun FM won for Most Popular English and Tamil channels, respectively.

The program "Ara Pasbara" on Hiru FM was crowned Most Popular Radio Program.

Digital platforms also saw success, with www.hirunews.lk winning Most Popular News Website and Hiru News taking the award for Most Popular News YouTube Channel.

Furthermore, the network received a special award for Corporate Social Responsibility in recognition of initiatives like "Rata WenuwenHiru."
