The Department of Meteorology expects continued rainfall tomorrow in the Northern, Eastern, and Uva provinces, as well as the Matale, Nuwara Eliya, and Polonnaruwa districts.

Fairly heavy showers exceeding 50 mm are likely in some of these areas.

Additionally, the Kandy and Anuradhapura districts may experience intermittent rain spells.

In the Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces, and the Kalutara district, showers or thundershowers are predicted to develop during the afternoon or evening.

Residents are advised to take precautions against lightning and localised strong winds during these periods.
