The Nawalapitiya-Kandy road, which was affected by a landslide, will be reopened for traffic within a week, according to Army Commander Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo.

The Army Commander stated that the road, currently obstructed by the landslide, will be opened for vehicle movement within seven days.

He made this announcement yesterday (4) afternoon while participating in an inspection tour of the Gadolbokkuwa area in Ulapane on the Nawalapitiya-Kandy main road.

Restoration work on the road is currently being carried out by the Road Development Authority and Army personnel.
