David Ritz recently released the somewhat controversial biography on the Queen of Soul titled Respect on October 28.

It has been said the book was in the making for 25 years.

Franklin has complaints when it comes to supposed "false claims" within the book, for example, one section that says she was promiscuous in her youth.

Ritz has previously written biographies about other artists, such as Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Etta James, Smokey Robinson and Willie Nelson.
