Stevie Wonder Honored At ASCAP Gala

Stevie Wonder was among the artists honored by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers [ASCAP] with the Centennial Award for "incomparable accomplishments."
The honors gala went down Monday in NYC and marked the 100th anniversary of the organization.
Others to get the award were Garth Brooks, Billy Joel,Joan Baez and Stephen Sondheim.
Motown founder Barry Gordy gave a speech in honor of Wonder, joking that Wonder's a "lousy driver" and that his "golf game is horrible."
Wonder also played his song "Superstition," along with other hits, while Brooks was feted by his wife Trisha Yearwood, who sang his hit "If Tomorrow Never Comes."
"I know the father. I know the friend. I know the partner. I know the best friend. I am very proud of Garth," said Trish of her hubby.
Meanwhile, Sting sang Joel's "Big Man on Mulberry Street," and Emmylou Harris covered Baez's "Diamond and Rust."
