Bruce Springsteen Reveals His Favorite Books And Authors

Bruce Springsteen spoke with reporters to talk about his favorite books.

He said he just finished Herman Melville's Moby Dick and Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Love in the Time of Cholera, while also talking about his old favorites.

"I like the Russians, the Chekhov short stories, Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky . . . Personal favorites: The Brothers Karamazov and, of course, Anna Karenina."

He added, "Current favorites: Philip Roth, Cormac McCarthy and Richard Ford. It's hard to beat American Pastoral, I Married a Communist and Sabbath's Theater.

Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian remains a watermark in my reading."

The Boss releases his own book, Outlaw Pete, on November 4.

He said that it's "the story of a man trying to outlive and outrun his sins."
