A new species of tarantula has been named after John Lennon.
The species was discovered in Brazil's Western Amazonia region by a research team and named Bumba lennoni after the famous Beatle by the team's researchers Fernando Perez-Miles, Alexandre Bonaldo, and Laura Miglio, who all found out they were passionate fans of the Beatles.
Lennon is not the first rocker to be honored with a species recently.
In September, Mick Jagger had an extinct water pig named Jaggermeryx naida (which means "Jagger's water nymph"), with the lead researcher of the team who discovered the pig noting that the pig's lips reminded her of Jagger's lips.
