The childhood home of George Harrison sold for over $250,000 at auction, a great deal more than realtors' initial estimates.
"We are delighted for our client and the new buyers of 25 Upton Green, who have purchased such a unique property," said Stephen Giddins, the regional sales director of Merseyside-based selling agent Entwistle Green.
He didn't say, however, who the new owners are.
The three bedroom home is located at 25 Upton Green.
The Harrisons moved there in 1949, when George was six, moving out in the early 1960s. During his final years in the home, George met Paul McCartney and John Lennon.
Andrew Brown, Managing Director, Countrywide Property Auctions, noted, "We are delighted to have sold such an iconic piece of the Beatles and Liverpool's history."
Last year, Lennon's first home, sold for $767,000 despite having a guide price of just $240,000.
