City officials in Folsom, California have named a new pedestrian/bicycle overpass after the late Johnny Cash.

The Man in Black named his 1968 album, At Folsom Prison, after the local prison where he performed.

"People around the world know Folsom because of that very famous song," Folsom Mayor Kerri Howell says.

Cash performed two shows at Folsom State Prison in California on January 13, 1968. The resulting album was a compilation of cuts from the two performances.

"He was good for the city, and the city was good for him," added Robert Goss, Folsom's parks and recreation director.

City planners are currently raising funds for a park near the bridge as well as a 40-foot steel statue of Cash.
