Keith Richards has finished his first solo album in 22 years, but he doesn't plan on releasing it any time soon.

The rocker confirmed that he will be releasing his new solo project sometime in 2015 after the Rolling Stones conclude their current tour.

"I have a solo record finished, but I don't want to put it out while the Stones are working," he said.

"We've got South America lined up in February, Buenos Aires, Peru. And after that, I know what the Stones tours are like, they tend to get extended."

The first mention of this solo album was in 2011. However, the Rolling Stones began touring on and off the next year and they decided to release new songs. Now they will be on the road until next June or longer.

Richards also recently released a new children's book titled Gus & Me: The Story of My Granddad and My First Guitar.
