With some help from Nile Rodgers, Chic broke the record for playing a concert with the world's largest disco ball during a performance at Bestival on Sunday, September 7.

Before the show, Rodgers met with a Guinness Book of Records rep to accept the honor.

"We are so happy to be here, you have no idea," Rodgers said at the beginning of the set, "and we're ready to break the world record."

This year's Bestival event used the giant mirrorball to celebrate its Desert Island Disco theme.

"Can you believe it? We've only gone and cracked it, we've built a beauty and we're certain this disco ball is a record breaker," said one of the fest's organizers.

Others to appear at the four-day fest included OutKast, Beck and Foals.
