Paul McCartney played a farewell concert at San Fran's Candlestick Park on Thursday, August 15, saying goodbye to the venue that hosted the Beatles final full-length concert on August 29, 1966.

"I have some very special memories — as you know — of (playing) Candlestick Park," said McCartney in a promo vid for the concert.

The show, attended by 50,000, featured a fireworks display along with a 40-song set from Sir Paul that included two encores.

The Beatles last show at Candlestick lasted just 11 songs and 35 minutes.

Candlestick Park will now be torn down and replaced by a 1.1 million square foot development project, according to the Bay City News.

Others to play the venue before its closure included Beyonce and Jay Z, Tom Petty and Kanye West.
