The home in which Johnny Cash grew up in Dyess, Arkansas has been fully renovated and ready to welcome visitors.
Dyess, a small town of 400 residents, now hosts the home, a museum and a theater.
The Cash home, built in 1935, was restored to its appearance when the Cash family lived there (1935-1954). It was furnished based on recollections from family members.
"We've got everything just as it was," Joanne Cash told the reporters. "It took a lot of hard work. It's been very emotional for me."
She noted a marquis feature was the family piano. "We used to gather around that piano at night and sing gospel for an hour. That was our entertainment."
Entry to the grounds costs $10 with half going to Dyess and the other half going to Arkansas State University, which funded the project.
