Elton John joins Smokey Robinson for "The Tracks of My Tears," a cut from the latter's new album Smokey & Friends.

In a promo for the cut, Elton calls it "the greatest pop song ever written."

"I was lucky enough to pick 'Tracks of My Tears' because I've always loved the song, probably one of the best lyrics of all time," he adds.

Smokey returned the compliment by saying, "My dream and my aim as a songwriter is fulfilled with statements like that. Especially by someone like Elton, who is a great songwriter himself."

Smokey & Friends features 11 duets on classic Robinson hits. John Legend, Steven Tyler, Cee Lo Green, James Taylor, Miguel, Aloe Blacc and Mary J. Bligeare all featured on the LP, which hits August 19.
