Steven van Zandt, guitarist for Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, is putting a record together for 60s hitmaker Darlene Love, and he's enlisted several of his famous pals to help.

"I'm writing. Elvis Costello's writing. I've talked to Bruce about a song," he began.

Darlene Love is most well known for her work with producer Phil Spector in the early 60s.

"Everybody I know that is a great songwriter, I'm talking to. We're hoping to have an all-star album for Darlene, which she deserves."

He added that other writers he's contacted include Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann("You've Lost That Loving Feeling"), Mike Stoller ("Jailhouse Rock") and Carole King.

Van Zandt says that he'll release the Love record on his own label.
