Elton John has no plans to retire, despite a recent statement in concert to the contrary.

While on stage at the Festival de Carcassone in France, John told the crowd, "No more shows, no more music, no more songs."

He added that he plans on making time for his partner David Furnish and their two kids.

However, his rep, says that the statement was meant in jest:

"He's not retiring . . . Elton was only joking."

Elton has previously said that he'd like to cut back on touring once his two sons begin school, but never said he'd fully retire.

The Rocket Man's current European tour runs through July, picking up in North America in September, and then heading back to Europe in November.
