Carly Simon says that part of her 1972 hit "You're So Vain" is about the actor Warren Beatty.
In the past, the cut has been rumored to be about either Beatty, Mick Jagger, or Simon's ex-husband James Taylor.
Speaking with People, Simon says the second verse is about Beatty. "I have confirmed that the second verse is Warren.
Warren thinks the whole thing is about him."
The second verse has lyrics including, "You had me several years ago when I was still quite naïve / Well you said that we made such a pretty pair / And that you would never leave / But you gave away the things you loved and one of them was me / I had some dreams, they were clouds in my coffee."
In her new memoir, Boys in the Trees, Simon dishes another Beatty-related anecdote in which one day she went to see her shrink, who told her, "All I'll say is, you're not the only patient of mine who spent the night last night with Warren Beatty."
Boys In The Trees is in stores on November 24.
