Allman Brothers Band Announce More Details For Fillmore East Box Set

The Allman Brothers Band have announced further details surrounding release of their classic live performances at NYC's Fillmore East in 1971.

The set, titled The 1971 Fillmore East Recordings, is due July 29, and features six CDs of material.

CD 1 is taken from the first show on March 12, 1971,

CD 2 is taken from the second show later that night,

CD 3 is from the first show on March 13, while

CDs 4 and 5 are comprised of the second show that night.

CD 6 is from the band's June 27, 1971 Fillmore East closing show.

Six songs from the March 12 set have never been heard before, while the same day's second set features previously unreleased versions of "Statesboro Blues," "Don't Keep Me Wonderin," "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed" and 'Whipping Post."

The March 14 set will feature another four new tracks, while a final previously unreleased cut sees the band's intro from Fillmore East owner Bill Graham.
