New videos have hit the web showing Tom Pettyputting on an unannounced secret show at Los Angeles' legendary Troubadour venue.

Petty dubbed the show a "holiday gathering and jamathon" and, along with his Heartbreakers, he offered up a mix of covers and originals.

The December 19 performance comes at a busy time for Petty, who also released a collection of rarities from his back catalog to digital download services.

The new release, titled Playback, was initially released as a physical collection in 1995.

Playback marked the final release in his partnership with MCA records, with which he also released his popular Greatest Hits album.

Petty also recently announced that he will curate his own SiriusXM channel called Tom Petty Radio.

The station, set to focus on all aspects of the rocker's lengthy and varied career, will launch on November 20 on SiriusXM channel 31.
