Fast bowler Nuwan Thushara filed a case in the Colombo District Court seeking an order to compel Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to issue him the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL). The court took up the case today (02) and scheduled further examination for April 9.
Thushara named SLC President Shammi Silva, Secretary Bandula Dissanayake, Treasurer Sujeeva Godaliyadda, and CEO Ashley de Silva as respondents in the filing. The legal action follows the player's requirement for official clearance to participate in the upcoming franchise tournament.
