Girls just wanna have... legendary status! Cyndi Lauper is officially being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and she’s feeling all the feels. The ‘Time After Time’ icon was revealed as part of the Rock Hall’s Class of 2025 during a special episode of American Idol on April 27, and naturally, she took to Instagram to soak it all in.
In classic Cyndi style, she gave a big shoutout to the fierce women who came before her—Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, Joni Mitchell, and Wanda Jackson—saying their influence paved the way for her and so many others.
“Women have made so many important contributions to music and to rock n roll,” she wrote. “And a win for one of us is a win for all of us.”
Talk about a mic-drop moment. Congrats, Cyndi—you’ve earned every bit of this rock star recognition!
